New Board, New Compost Bin!

Hello Leawood residents, 

This is Alex, your new webmaster. I will be updating the website with board meeting minutes, information from the newsletter, and relevant news from the Leawood HOA. If there is something you'd like to see or learn about on the website, please email the HOA at LeawoodHOA97402@gmail.com.

The Annual All-Member Meeting was held September 24th, 2019 at the Elks Lodge.

Our new volunteer Board of Directors for 2019-2020 is as follows:

President – Jean Goodbar

Vice-President – Bob Hunton

Secretary - Joe Harris

Treasurer - Marie Hinds

Board Members at Large - Paul Mead, Jeanne Bishop, Jane Dods, Deanna Von Epling, and Greg Smith.

The Lea Wood Board wishes to thank Bob Hunton, the outgoing President for the many volunteer hours he gave to the HOA. We also would like to express gratitude to Jean Goodbar, for agreeing to serve as the new Board President.

Recent projects completed under the direction of the board include splash blocks for downspouts installed as needed and tree trimming, staining eaves, and power washing of fences.

HOA RECYCLING TO INCLUDE A BIN FOR COMPOSTING

Over 40 million pounds of food ends up in landfills each year. Eugene’s answer to the problem was to start a city-wide curbside composting program. The Leawood HOA Board voted to be a part of this program and requested that one compost recycling bin (look for a Love Food, Not Waste logo) be placed in the 1300 block. This bin is for food waste and plant trimmings ONLY. For further information see the City of Eugene website and Curbside Composting to watch a short, nifty video.
